Fighting Hairfall in the UAE Climate: A Natural Routine
If you live in the UAE, you already know the climate is tough on hair. Between air-conditioned dryness, strong sun, and hard tap water, a lot of people notice more breakage and dullness here than they did back home. The good news: a simple routine goes a long way.
What's actually happening
Three things gang up on your hair in the Gulf:
- Dry air — indoor AC and desert heat both pull moisture out of the hair shaft, making it brittle.
- Hard water — mineral-heavy water can leave hair feeling rough and harder to manage.
- Sun exposure — UV weakens the outer layer of the hair over time.
Most of what looks like "hairfall" from these is actually breakage — hair snapping mid-strand because it's dry and fragile. That's the part a good routine can genuinely help with.
A routine that fits the climate
- Oil 2–3 times a week. Massage Maya Hair Oil into the scalp and lengths to restore the moisture the climate strips away. Leave 1–2 hours, then wash out.
- Don't over-wash. Washing every day strips natural oils. Two to four times a week is kinder to hard-water hair.
- Rinse cool. A final cool rinse helps smooth the hair's outer layer after hard-water washing.
- Cover up in strong sun. A scarf or hat on peak-sun days protects more than you'd expect.
Give it time
Natural care isn't instant. Give a consistent routine at least six to eight weeks before you judge it — most people find their hair feels softer and breaks less well before then.
Maya Hair Oil is made from natural ingredients and is for external use only. Patch-test if you have sensitivities.
